It's highly recommended to leave henna paste on for several hours (one hour minimum), over night is best. But, now it's time to pick it off...
Do not remove your henna paste with water! If you must use a liquid to remove it, use lemon juice. Stubborn henna can also be removed by softening with hand lotion.
If you use the Elmer's Glue or Liquid Latex sealer, the henna should come off with the glue/latex as you peel it off. For unsealed henna or henna sealed with a method other than Elmer's Glue or Liquid Latex, you can scrape it off with your fingernails or anything stiff with a thin edge (like a credit card). Please use common sense when doing this and don't hurt yourself!
Don't scrub the tattoo too hard or get it wet for as long as possible. Don't use abrasive cleansing products on the stain. Wear rubber gloves to protect the stain on your hands from abuse while doing housework or similar activity, it will help the stain last longer.
Your stain will initially be an orange color. It will darken over the next 48 hours.
With gentle care your henna tattoo should last, at least, 10 days or even longer.
